Meter Services Coordinator

At ERWSD, the work you do matters. We operate a complex water and wastewater system in the heart of Colorado's Vail Valley, serving mountain communities across challenging terrain and significant elevation changes. The Utility Services team works at the intersection of customer service, field operations, and data integrity by keeping work orders moving, customers informed, and records accurate.
The Day-to-Day
- Customer-Focused Communication: Help customers schedule meter-related appointments, understand next steps, and know what to expect; escalate complex questions as needed.
- Coordination and Follow-Through: Track requests, schedule appointments, confirm access, and ensure work orders completion; coordinate between customer service and field crews.
- Data Accuracy and Records Management: Maintain accurate records for meters, meter readings, meter billing configurations, meter communication status and field visit data across our customer information, workflow management, and asset management platforms by validating data, documenting updates, and ensuring record completeness.
- Systems and AMI Monitoring: Monitor and dispatch resources to resolve endpoint and network infrastructure downtime. Execute commands on a 2-Way AMI network to remotely to resolve communication challenges. Administer reads collections process via vehicle and tower collection units. Utilizes the network interface to validate missed reads, alarms, and communication failures to strategically assign District resources for resolution.
- Reporting and Analysis Support: Compile operational data and assist with recurring reports on meter reads, AMI communication status, and workflow progress; support dashboard updates and trend tracking.
- Templates, SOPs, and Continuous Improvement: Use and help maintain job aids, templates, and procedural documentation to improve consistency; support outreach efforts, mailings, and compliance notifications.
- Two (2) years of experience in customer service, scheduling/coordination, administrative support, or a role involving accurate recordkeeping. Utility or local government experience is a plus.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and data entry across multiple systems.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License within 30 days of full-time employment and be insurable under District standards.
- Familiarity with utility metering, AMI concepts, work orders, or service scheduling is a plus.
Schedule and Work Location
This role will be scheduled to work 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday out of our Vail office. Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule.
Pay Range
The District may fill this position at the Coordinator I or Coordinator II level based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. Pay range and title depend on certifications and experience. Starting range depends on qualifications but generally falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
- Meter Services Coordinator (Coordinator I): $30.58 - $42.82
- Meter Services Coordinator (Coordinator II): $33.71 - $47.21
