The Analytics Intelligence Supervisor leads our data-driven transformation as we develop a more integrated data infrastructure organization-wide. As a key leader in our Digital Intelligence & Automation Department, you will supervise a team focused on delivering data integration and advanced analytics solutions to move the needle on water conservation, customer behavior, operational efficiency, and compliance. This role bridges unyielding quality control with business innovation, ensuring that data is accessible, accurate, and meets client needs. During an extended introductory period, this role will stand up all water conservation-related data systems and support reporting initiatives to ensure the Water Conservation Department has the data needed to run outreach campaigns, develop future programs, and reduce customer water use. After this introductory period, this role will provide data architecture and analytics support for the entire organization, including direct responsibility for our annual rate update process and ongoing customer and billing data maintenance to ensure data integrity and system reliability.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:
- Advanced Analytics: Apply advanced statistical methods (including Bayesian approaches) to optimize rate structures. Build scalable, container-based data pipelines to process millions of customer usage records.
- Data Visualization: Create interactive data visualizations and stakeholder-facing dashboards that support client Departments in their data analysis. Lead the automation of executive KPI dashboards in Power BI and data pipelines.
- Water Conservation: Direct the annual rate analysis cycle, integrate our customer and water use data systems with GIS, meter data, and CityWorks asset management and work order systems, and build out the data infrastructure of our organization. Collaborate with Water Conservation analysts to ensure conservation program effectiveness through data-driven insights and performance metrics.
- Data Management/Integration: Maintain customer and billing databases, including ongoing updates to rate multipliers, bill codes, and account parameters to support accurate billing and rate analysis. Integrate our customer and water use data systems with GIS, meter data, and CityWorks asset management and work order systems, and build out the data infrastructure of our organization. Ensure Departmental access to well-constructed data ecosystems, support reporting efforts through dashboards, and drive us to operational excellence
- Technology & Innovation: Evaluate and implement new analytics tools and AI/ML solutions.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise a team architecting the data systems our utility needs. Coordinate data needs across departments to ensure unified analytics approach. Partner with department leadership to define and track KPIs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, environmental science, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in advanced data architecture/analytics, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Experience in utilities, water resources, or environmental sectors preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced Analytics: Proficiency in R for statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics. Experience processing large-scale datasets.
- Database Management: Expert SQL skills including complex queries, stored procedures, and query optimization.
- Data Visualization: Advanced Power BI development, including DAX, data modeling, and automated refresh schedules.
- Data Warehousing: Design and implementation of enterprise data warehouse solutions and dimensional modeling.
- ETL Processes: Extract, Transform, Load pipeline development and data integration workflows.
- Container/Docker: Experience with containerization technologies for reproducible analytics environments and deployment.
- Leadership: Proven ability to supervise technical teams, manage complex/analytical projects, manage competing priorities, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills.
- The following technical skills are preferred: API Integration, Cloud Platforms, MS Power Platform, VM Environments, Data Security & Compliance, Version Control & DevOps.
- Familiarity with infrastructure/spatial data analysis, ML platforms (DataRobot, H2O.ai, or similar), water conservation principles and rate design, utility Customer Information System software is a plus.
- Published research or demonstrated thought leadership in water resources is a plus.
SCHEDULE
This position works a hybrid schedule, on-site 2-3 days per week at our office in Vail, Colorado.
COMPENSATION
The range for this position is $113,110.40 - $169,665.60 annually. Starting range depends on qualifications but generally falls within the minimum and midpoint of the pay range.
